BRYCE CANYON

We visited Bryce Canyon National Park in the spring of 2017 on our first National Parks trip together. After an early morning drive which may or may not have involved a few Diet Coke/bathroom stops, we made it to the Bryce Canyon. After layering up and grabbing our gear, we approached the canyon at Sunrise Point. While we definitely missed the sunrise, we were no less awed by the early morning light on the walls and hoodoos of Bryce. After walking the Rim Trail, we headed down the Navajo Trail into the canyon. From here, we hiked the Peak-a-Boo Trail, which is aptly named as there are surprises around every corner. Further along the trail we saw signs for Bryce Point, which was a vertical ascent back up to the rim. We hiked up and out onto the point, further exacerbating Dusty’s fears of heights, and back down onto the Peak-a-Boo Trail. We ended our day at Bryce slogging up the Queen’s Garden Trail, as the ascent was steep, and at this point Herculean, after thirteen miles of hiking that day.

Bryce Canyon National Park is on the traditional and stolen land of the Ute, Southern Paiute, and Pueblo people.
