JOSHUA TREE

Our first stop on our Spring 2018 trip took us to the wild and wonderful Joshua Tree National Park. This is the first trip in which we were joined by friends who were also well versed in the park and it’s environs. It was definitely nice to have tour guides along for this ride especially since Joshua Tree is a popular park made even more popular when we were there by spring break vacations.

While we only got to spend a day and a half in Joshua Tree, we certainly packed a lot in (surprise, surprise). After driving into the depths of the park, our first journey was to Jumbo Rocks were we got to explore a little bit before dusk settled. The next day we were able to get up early and get a hike in at 49 Palms Oasis which is not within the main section of the park, but well worth this short jaunt. Afterwards we trekked the Hidden Valley Trail and toured the Cholla Cactus Garden before dipping out and heading on our way.

There is definitely a lot more to explore in Joshua Tree and we can’t wait to get back there!

Joshua Tree National Park is on the traditional and stolen land of the Serrano and Western Shoshone people.
